Me and Bryan Mills Daughter

I walked up to the door. Very nervous. My hands are sweaty and I am shaking like a washing machine on overdrive. I lean forward and ring the doorbell.

Kim answers the door. Looking beautiful as ever.

Kim: Dad! Omar is here.

I walk in and it was a very nice house. My apartment could possibly take only maybe half of the living room. Floors that share my reflection. Expensive looking furniture and assorted items. Kim takes me to the living room.

Kim: I still have to get ready. Just wait here a while and….don’t let my dad scare you too much.

Me: Don’t worry. I won’t be. (I kinda was)

As Kim heads upstairs, I walk around the living room pondering at all the grandeour when I hear someone walk behind me. Plenty of scenarios go through my head. I heard about Kim’s father saving her from sex traffickers in Europe and the gory details of their deaths so I was understandably tense. I turn slowly to reveal that it was actually Kim’s mother.

Lenore: You ok? You seem a bit jumpy.

Me: Oh no no no. I’m fine.

Lenore: Good. Oh right! I’m Kim’s mom (Extends her hand)

Me: Omar. Very nice to meet you.

Lenore: Kim will be ready shortly, but I suggest you sit down on the couch. I think it’s silly, but my husband wants to talk to you before the date.

Me: Oh no ma’am. I completely understand.

Lenore: Thank you. Don’t be a stranger if you need anything.

Me: Ok. Thank you.

Lenore walks away. I get a little tense.

Suddenly, a hear a booming voice from the other side of the wall.

Bryan: I remember my mother being very strict on the girls I went out with when I was a teenager. Very picky woman she was. If any girl came off as “easy” or “rude”, she would raise her hands in protest and suggest I move to another.

Bryan sits down in a chair in front of me.

Bryan: I might not have understand it then. But I do now. How are you Omar?

Me: I’m fine sir. How are y….

Bryan: Don’t patronize me with that. I know you don’t care.

Me: O-O-O-Okk

He stares intensely into my eyes.

Bryan: Let’s get down to business. You like my daughter and you two are going out tonight, correct?

Me: Yes sir.

Bryan: Do you know only have sexual reasoning for having this date?

Me:……Sexual reasoning?

Bryan: Are you doing this to “get into her pants”?

Me: No sir. I’m not that kind of guy.

Bryan: Well, my daughter is a beautiful girl. I understand if you do….because you do. Deep inside. It’s genetics.

Me: Ok.

Bryan: So what is your plan for this date?

Me: Well, I thought we go and catch a movie and grab some food afterwards.

Bryan: Do you have money?

Me: Yes.

Bryan: Good because you will cover every expense on this date. She will not drop a dime.

Me: Of course.

Bryan: What happens if you get mugged or an assailant tries to rape my daughter? Are you capable of defending her?

Me: Uhmm, sorry?

Me: Yes! I can.

Bryan: Are you sure? I see some serious doubt in your eyes. I took out a whole network of sex traffickers. I am prepared to give my life for my daughter. Are you willing Omar?

Me: Of course.

Bryan: Also, one more thing. You do know that I have a particular set of skills. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. So if ANYTHING happens to my daughter on this date whether it is emotional or physical trauma, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Kim: Hi dad. You didn’t scare him off did you?

Bryan’s expression changes dramatically. He starts grinning.

Bryan: Not at all. We were having a man to man talk.

Me: Yeah. Your dad is so cool. (I give him a look while he gives me a serious death stare)

Kim: I’ll be back around 10pm.

Bryan: No later, ok?

Kim: Have I ever disappointed you?

They hug and I escort Kim out the door.

Bryan still gives me that steely look as I walk Kim to my car.

About the Author

My name is Omar and I love action movies. I grew up loving action films thanks in part to my father who would deliver a healthy dose of Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis, and Seagal in my movie diet. Ever since then, I continue to love the genre more and more and go along perfectly with my love for the horror genre. What other movie genre can specialize in giving you pure adrenaline and excitement in every turn?
