The Return of Chuck Norris

So we have a Renaissance of action stars returning back to the genre that defined their careers. Schwarzenegger has several movies down the pipeline, Lundgren is having success, and now we get the news that Chuck Norris is planning on returning to the genre as well.

Not going to lie, but my introduction to Norris was the Chuck Norris facts. That was my first real intro to Chuck Norris and who he was. Later in life, I discovered his Missing in Action and Delta Force films that I truly knew the Chuck. Now that he is returning, I ask the question of whether this is a move that would benefit or destroy his career? His career right now is defined by those facts and not the movies that he starred in the 80’s. The facts are and we all say them on a daily basis, but it certainly has created a stigma of sorts to Norris’ career. He won’t shake those facts off in any role he plays and I think it can be applied to The Expendables 2 as well. So is it a wise move for Norris to come back to action films? I think so. He’s no Robert Redford, but he delivers the cheese that I want in an action film and I would like to experience some more Chuck that doesn’t involve him having a fist beneath his beard.

About the Author

My name is Omar and I love action movies. I grew up loving action films thanks in part to my father who would deliver a healthy dose of Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis, and Seagal in my movie diet. Ever since then, I continue to love the genre more and more and go along perfectly with my love for the horror genre. What other movie genre can specialize in giving you pure adrenaline and excitement in every turn?
