John McTiernan Going to Prison

Dang, this is disappointing; I’d been holding out hope that he would maybe direct Expendables 3 or 4, but it doesn’t look like it. McTiernan has directed classics such as Die Hard, Predator and The Hunt for Red October, but more recently has been trying to appeal a conviction that would land him in federal prison.

He has now run out of appeals and it looks like the director will be heading to prison for about a year. McTiernan had apparently sought to suppress a digital recording where he discussed the use of an illegal wiretap by Anthony Pellicano, whom he had hired to investigate producer Chuck Roven.

Hollywood Reporter has the full story here.
