Who Would You Cast as The Flash?

I’m on a Justice League tip just now, for reasons I can’t explain but I have always been a huge fan of The Flash. I have the full 90s TV Series on DVD and still love it, despite being a bit cheesy in places. The costume and theme tune were excellent though. So we’ve all pretty much agreed that Reynolds should come back as Green Lantern but The Flash has never had a big screen outing as yet.

Ryan Gosling recently displayed an interest in the role; his comments were more off hand so I’m not sure if he would be genuinely interested or not. Personally I’d be delighted to see him take on The Flash as it’s the kind of role that he hasn’t done yet. However, he is not my main choice; now I know he’s been mentioned before but the one man who should play The Flash is Bradley Cooper; the man deserves his own franchise and he flits very nicely between genres. With the recent critical/commercial success of Silver Linings Playbook, he’s hotter then ever with audiences.

Since Cooper first broke out into the big time I’ve often wondered what superhero role he would take, but thus far he hasn’t taken one, but for me he is just the right fit for The Flash/Barry Allen.

I would still love to see The Flash in a standalone movie first as the character is a lot of fun, but it looks like he’ll be making his first appearance in the Justice League movie in a few years.

Cooper actually auditioned for the part of Green Lantern but was obviously unsuccessful but when asked if he would be interested his response wasn’t exactly positive: “Well I auditioned for the The Green Lantern and didn’t get it so I’m reluctant to put on the cape again.” That doesn’t bode well, does it?

Another favourite is Chris Pine (Star Trek, Jack Ryan) who also has yet to play a superhero role. I think he would also be a strong choice for the Flash so he gets a thumbs up from me. So we’ve got 3 main choices: Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and Chris Pine.

Who would you guys choose to play the fastest man alive?
