Would You Want Ryan Reynolds in the Justice League Movie?

The Green Lantern movie was pretty hit and miss but it wasn’t a flop; it made over $100 million domestically and $219 million worldwide which is still extremely impressive. Despite the movie’s CG overload, there was fun to be had and it wasn’t without its moments.

With the recent announcment that the upcoming Justice League movie will have only 5 members (Batman, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern & Wonder Woman) it got me thinking if Reynolds would be returning to play Hal Jordan/Green Lantern.

Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie, I say yes; bring Reynolds back in to keep the continuity going so we don’t get another reboot/origin story.

As far as I’m concerned the Green Lantern movie was enough to get us to know a bit about the character and the mythos surrounding him. We found out who the Lantern core was and we even got to meet some of the major players like Sinestro.

Reynolds plays Hal as the wise-cracking hero and he has similarities to the way Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark in the Iron Man/Avengers movies. I think he would fit in nicely with the serious Batman and true blue hero of Superman.

What worked so well about The Avengers was the light, humorous tone which is why it was a bigger hit than the Dark Knight Rises. I think it’s a good idea to (almost) do the same, but keep Batman dark and moody obviously.

What do you guys think? Would you like Reynolds to return as Green Lanern or would you want someone utterly different in the role for the Justice League movie?
