Also on Blu Ray This Week: Hard Target & Sudden Death

Yes, you read this correctly, finally Universal have released two of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s best films in High Definition Blu Ray. They are however on UK Blu Ray, but before everyone cries “Bastard!” I can confirm that the Blu Rays are in fact Region Free, which means you can play them anywhere in the world.

I have just got them myself  and I know how I will be spending my weekend. In case you’re weird and have never seen either movie, I’ve posted the synopsis and trailers for both movies. Sadly, there are no special features but if, like me you only want to watch the films in High Definition then you’ll have a blast.

Hard Target

Synopsis: Acclaimed Hong Kong action director John Woo’s first Hollywood film attempts to construct a ‘running man’ thriller out of a collection of explosions and stunts. Cajun sailor Chance Boudreaux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) reluctantly comes to the aid of a female lawyer (Yancy Butler) who is searching for her missing father, a Vietnam veteran. In the course of their search the pair encounter a group of wealthy businessmen, who amuse themselves in the Louisiana swamps by hunting down the homeless.

Sudden Death

Synopsis: Darren McCord (Jean-Claude Van Damme) must rescue his little girl from terrorists who have interrupted the Stanley Cup ice hockey final. The bad guys threaten to blow everybody up unless they get a billion dollars from the treasury by the end of the game. McCord has his work cut out if he’s going to stop the explosion and retrieve his child before that final buzzer.
