To Sequel or Not to Sequel: Crank 3

The first two Crank movies are the most batshit crazy movies you’ll ever see with outrageous action, public sex scenes and Jason Statham on fine wise-cracking form. Part 1 is arguably the superior movie as the second one felt like it was just deliberately trying to shock, but I still had a blast with it.

I’ve been racking my brains wondering what a potential storyline could be and I still can’t come up with anything. I thought about, what if Chev Chelios had an explosive planted in his brain and he had to do lots of cray stuff to prevent it from exploding but I’d have no idea how to execute it.

During the promotion of The Expendables 2 Staham was asked if he would be interested in a third Crank flick, he responded: “Of course.” “I love those two lads, [directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor]. I haven’t seen any script or anything for it, but they are a couple you can’t say no to.

There has been talk of Crank 3D which would probably be fun, although I think the public are starting to get a little tired of the 3D fad.

Considering the first Crank made $43 Million worldwide and part 2 only made $34 million, I’m not sure we are going to see Part 3 any time soon. If however, it does get released then I would be first in line.

What do you guys think? Would you watch Crank 3?
