Author Tom Clancy Passes Away

We’re sad to report that Tom Clancy, author of the Jack Ryan Novels THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, PATRIOT GAMES, CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, THE SUM OF ALL FEARS and many more has passed away at age 66.

Clancy’s publisher, G.P. Putnam’s Sons, confirmed to The New York Times that Clancy died in a Baltimore hospital on Tuesday. The cause of death was not provided.

We’ve lost some legends this year and Clancy was one of the all-time greats. There is a new Jack Ryan movie in production starring Chris Pine in the title role with Keira Knightley set to play his wife.

The writer’s 17th novel, “Command Authority,” is scheduled for release on Dec. 3.
