Olympus Has Fallen Will Get a Sequel!

Olympus Has Fallen remains the best old school actioner this year in a year where we’ve seen most of our action heroes continue chugging in their films. It was action packed, funny, tense, and very entertaining despite some crappy CG. It also was the most successful of the two White House Die Hard movies this year besting White House Down in reviews and box office. So now we will have a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen starting production in May 2014 and the main cast (Butler, Eckhart, Freeman, and Basset) will return. It will expand to another global location with the same characters battling more terrorists. We even have a plot synopsis and the title which is naturally London Has Fallen:

“A plot to strike the city during the funeral of the British Prime Minister. Only the President Of The United States, his secret service head and an English MI6 agent can save the day.”

So this time Butler and the President will team up with an MI6 agent to save London from destruction. I would say that agent is James Bond, but that’s wishful thinking. This sounds really cheesy, but that’s the point. A goofy 80’s actioner and it seems they might go for a franchise involving multiple cities. We’ll see how this pans out. In the meantime, are you excited for this sequel?

About the Author

My name is Omar and I love action movies. I grew up loving action films thanks in part to my father who would deliver a healthy dose of Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis, and Seagal in my movie diet. Ever since then, I continue to love the genre more and more and go along perfectly with my love for the horror genre. What other movie genre can specialize in giving you pure adrenaline and excitement in every turn?
