This Weekend’s Action on Sky Movies

While bored the other night (it happens a lot); I ended up on the Sky Movies website and thought I’d take a look at what actioners they have coming up over the next few weeks.

I’ve decided that I’m going to look at Netflix and other online sites too and keep you kids up to date with where you can watch the best of the action genre.

This weekend, Sky TV offers Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, which I can’t decide whether I like or not. I like the visuals and the music but overall it left me cold.

However, on Sky Crime/Thriller they have John Woo’s underrated Broken Arrow with John Travolta and Christian Slater. The best thing about the movie is Hans Zimmer’s epic score but as with every Woo movie (Woovie?) the action is superb. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many helicopters explode in one movie.

My personal favourite channel is Sky Greats simply for this Saturday alone with The Last Boy Scout and The Last Action Hero playing.

Over on Sky Action/Adventure, they’ve got Delta Force 2 starring Chuck Norris and The Man With the Iron Fists from The RZA. That was a fun movie and worth watching with a few beers. Michael Bay’s The Island is on during Saturday afternoon as well and I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who likes that movie.

If you’re looking for some Swords n Sandal’s action you can check out Immortals on Sky Showcase at 3:45pm on Saturday.

So that should keep you out of trouble for this weekend; I’ll keep scouring and any other cool movies coming up I’ll let y’all know.
