Fast and Furious 7 Gets a New Release Date

On Sunday evening, Vin Diesel announced via his Facebook that the upcoming “Fast and Furious 7”, which has been put on indefinite hold following the tragic death of Paul Walker last month, will now be released on April 10, 2015. The film was originally intended to be released on July 11 next year, but Walker’s demise led Universal to temporarily shut down the film in order to determine the proper course of action.

The “Fast and Furious” franchise has grown into one of, if not, the biggest and most popular action film series in Hollywood in recent years. The six films in the series have grossed a combined total of  $2,380,084,668, with the most recent installment alone accounting for $788 million of that, making the series Universal’s biggest franchise of all time. The seventh installment will reunite the series alumni Diesel, Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and Jordana Brewster with it’s more recent addition Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and will also welcome Jason Statham, Ronda Rousey, Kurt Russel, Michael Jai White, Djimon Honsou, and Tony Jaa into the franchise. The world can rest assured that they will all make the film into a great tribute to their departed friend.

R.I.P. Paul Walker, a true legend of action!

Here is Vin Diesel’s original Facebook message:

The last scene we filmed together…
There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…

Fast and Furious 7 will be released…

April 10th 2015!

P.s. He’d want you to know first…

In ancient Greece, they told legends of Odysseus, Theseus, and Hercules. Our heroes on the silver screen today serve the same purpose. I grew up devouring martial arts movies from Hong Kong, action flicks from Hollywood, and superhero movies from DC and Marvel. You can bet your bottom dollar that if it's got any one of those, I wanna see it! I also write for, a site dedicated to all things martial arts; check out my stuff there, as well!
