Is Denzel the New Green Lantern?

It seems that Warner Bros. are just skipping all the individual origin stories now and going straight into the Justice League movie.

With Gal Gadot recently confirmed to play Wonder Woman, alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman in 2015’s Batman vs. Superman; it appears one more member of the League will be in the movie: John Stewart AKA The Green Lantern, to be played by none other than Denzel Washington according to Nuke the Fridge.

I’ve said before that this all seems like too much too soon, but this really is some quality casting. It just seems odd that both Batman and Green Lantern will be older and more grizzled whereas Superman is still very much a rookie. I mean, wasn’t he Superman for like one day in Man of Steel?

Either way, with Denzel in the movie, then I have a feeling this could be quality as he is rarely in a bad film. We can probably expect casting announcements for The Flash and Aquaman soon.

What do you think? Is this all happening too fast or are you pleased that we appear to be getting a Justice League movie?

“Batman vs. Superman” AKA “Justice League” opens in theatres on July 17, 2015.
