Legend of Conan to Be Like Unforgiven

In a recent conversation with IGN, Conan Producer Chris Morgan has compared the upcoming Schwarzenegger epic to the Clint Eastwood classic Western.

“Arnold is coming back in an amazing way. It’s going to be our Unforgiven. It’s going to be great, like genuinely great.”

He continues: “I don’t want to give away plot, but Conan’s Conan to me. Look, for my money, I don’t think that the right way. I’m not interested in passing on the torch. It’s Conan! It’s Arnold Schwarzenegger. We’re bringing him back for a reason.

When I say Unforgiven, I mean it’s a guy who has to come back, and I want him to play his age. I want him to be looking at the later years of his life and have to contemplate this horrific threat”.

The new movie will apparently continue on from the 1982 John Milius classic and ignore Conan the Destroyer and the much maligned 2011 remake.

Paul Verhoeven recently expressed interest in directing Legend of Conan and all I will say is MAKE. THIS. HAPPEN. Verhoeven is the perfect choice for a movie like this and he has been sorely missed from Hollywood.

The film was slated for release this year but that is now highly unlikely so it’s more likely no female lamentations will be heard until 2015.
