New ‘Rambo: The Video Game’ Gameplay Trailer ‘Machine of War’

Rambo: The Video Game has been given a new gameplay trailer by Reef Entertainment and it looks pretty kick ass!

Titled ‘Machine of War’, the latest gameplay video looks at John Rambo’s battles with various enemies from the first three movies.

Writing on the PlayStation blog, game producer Piotr Latocha said that the developers have taken advantage of voice recordings from the films in order to provide an authentic experience.

In addition to authentic dialogue, the game will also include extracts from the movie soundtracks.

Elsewhere, Latocha also teased some of the game’s set-piece sections.

“We also wanted to ensure that Rambo: The Video Game’s gameplay stayed true to the motion pictures and allowed players to partake in as many of the classic Rambo action set-pieces as possible,” Latocha explained.”Everything from shooting up the Hope Police Station with the M60 HMG in First Blood through to the classic explosive-bow takedown of Lieutenant Tay in Rambo: First Blood Part 2 and of course ramming the tank into the Russian HIND at the finale of Rambo 3.”

Plans to introduce DLC, which will further explore “facets of Rambo’s character and battle skills”, will be announced at a later date.

Rambo: The Video Game will reportedly feature a “gritty atmosphere” and “full-on” action, with players able to wield Rambo’s iconic weapon set. Game modes include Shoot-Out, which will offer fixed-perspective, cover-based shoot-outs; Destruction, which involves heavy weaponry and resilient targets; and Stealth-Hunt, which sees players infiltrate camps with a bow and knife.

Elsewhere, QTE-Fight modes will recreate iconic fight scenes from the original films in third-person, quick-time events.

Rambo: The Video Game is coming soon to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
