‘Supernatural’ spinoff series details

New details have emerged about the planned Supernatural spinoff series.

The show – which will follow a hunter in Chicago – now has the title Supernatural: Tribes, reports TVLine.

The lead character – to be introduced in a ‘backdoor pilot’ airing as the 20th episode of Supernatural’s ninth season – will be Ennis Roth, an aspiring cop whose life is changed forever following an encounter with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).

Other regulars will include shape-shifting siblings David and Margo Hayden and veteran cop Freddie Costa. Tribes will also feature the powerful Durant clan, including the show’s chief villain Julian and his werewolf sister Violet, who holds a forbidden flame for David.

Supernatural continues on Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW – the backdoor pilot episode is scheduled to air later this year.

Padalecki says this spin-off show is a ‘reward for fans’. “”Supernatural fans have spoken,” Padalecki told TVLine. “[They’ve] said listen, there aren’t 100 million of us, but those of us that do watch the show are passionate and want to hear more stories and read fan fiction and be a part of this world. So I think it’s great.”
