Chris Hemsworth offered lead role in ‘Lethal Weapon’ reboot

Chris Hemsworth has reportedly been offered a leading role in Warner Bros’ reboot of the ‘Lethal Weapon’ franchise.
The ‘Thor/Rush’ star is being eyed for the action film, which will be overseen by original producer Joel Silver. According to Tracking Board, the project is titled ‘Lionhunters’ and falls between being a remake and a sequel to ‘Lethal Weapon 4.’
The storyline will supposedly revolve around the son of an older cop (thought to be Mel Gibson’s character Riggs) and his desire to join the police force.
Fast & Furious director Justin Lin is attached to make the film, while Gangster Squad‘s Will Beall is working on the script.

It is unclear if original stars Gibson and Danny Glover, or director Richard Donner and screenwriter Shane Black, will have any involvement in the rebooted series. Also, no hints as to who will play the annoying Leo Getz.
