My Thoughts on the New Batsuit

By now everyone in the world has seen Ben Affleck in the new Batman costume and I’m sure nothing will ever please the naysayers, but I have to say that I think this new outfit looks fantastic.

It’s a cross between The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Noël (See below) which are two of my favourite Batman stories.

I know a lot of us had our doubts about Batfleck but I have a sneaking suspicion that he may just knock it out of the park. I love the smaller cowl ears and the old-school bat symbol on his chest.

The question remains as it always does with the Batsuit: will he be able to turn his head?

I liked how they brought that up in The Dark Knight so hopefully that is something that is sorted to avoid any awkward movements.

One thing which really stands out is how totally buff Batman looks; I thought Bale was huge in Batman Begins but Affleck looks like he could crush you like a cracker over soup.

I also love the look of the new Batmobile; it looks like a cross between The Tumbler and the Keaton-era vehicle. It’s still only a glimpse but I can’t wait to see it in action.

As cool as it would have been to see someone like Scott Adkins play The Batman, I think Affleck will do just fine. I just hope we don’t have too many characters, too quickly and that the story isn’t rushed. I’m more worried about Wonder Woman, to be honest but I’ll hold off judgement until I see the first photos.

With a release date of 2016 though, they have plenty of time to create a movie that could be truly spectacular.

Bring on pictures of Superman and Wonder Woman followed by the most epic trailer of all time, please.

The cast includes Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jessie Eisenberg and Amy Adams and the film hits theatres on 29 April 2016.
