Poll: Does an Actor’s Personal Life Matter to You?

With Edge of Tomorrow’s (relatively) meagre domestic box office this week, it certainly looks like America has had their fill of Tom Cruise.

It’s a shame as this is one of his best movies yet and easily the best movie I’ve seen so far this year. The good news is that International audiences DID go to see it and it has now made a respectable $140 million worldwide in its opening weekend.

Most of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recent fare hasn’t exactly lit up the box office since his comeback either and that may be due to the fact that he had a child with his maid… or he could just be too old.

After Mel Gibson’s meltdown a few years ago, his career faltered and he is still struggling to find a box office hit; his recent movies like Machete Kills and The Beaver didn’t break any financial records either. Maybe Expendables 3 might be the hit he needs but if it is successful it will most likely be due to it being an ensemble piece as it’s doubtful that he could carry a big budget movie these days.

Personally I couldn’t care less about actor’s personal lives; if I judged everyone for making mistakes then I’d never watch any movie.

I just want to watch good action movies and what matters is what happens on screen, not behind the scenes.

Anyway, if a celebrity misbehaves in real life or says something shocking, would that really put you off going to see their movies? Apparently so, but take our poll below and anyone who votes will receive… nothing at all!
