Watch Gladiator Live in Toronto

Gladiator is one of my all time favourite movies; everything about it just works to perfection and the one thing I love the most is Hans Zimmer’s triumphant score.

If you live in Toronto or will be in town on December 5th then you should come to the Sony Centre and see the film’s music performed live.

Check out details below from the Sony Centre website:

Ridley Scott’s swords and sandals 2000 epic Gladiator will be presented live in concert for the first time in Canada on a 40′ wide screen with the original dialogue intact.

Replacing Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard’s recorded score will be its live performance by the Motion Picture Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Justin Freer and accompanied by the Tallis Choir of Toronto and featuring the virtuosic voice of Clara Sanabras.

Winner of five Academy Awards® and countless other honours, Gladiator remains one of the most popular films in its genre of all time.

Gladiator follows loyal Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe), who is betrayed when the emperor’s ambitious son, Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), murders his father and seizes the throne. Reduced to slavery, Maximus rises through the ranks of the gladiatorial arena to avenge the murder of his family and his emperor.

For music lovers, film-goers and anyone looking for an exciting and unique concert experience, GLADIATOR LIVE is sure to captivate.
PLUS: Join us in the lower lobby of the Sony Centre before the show for an engaging and interactive pre-show talk with the conductor of Gladiator Live, Justin Freer, who will be discussing the film, rebuilding the original score, and the challenges of the genre of live score to film. Justin will be answering questions from the audience.

Pre-show talk: 6:30-7:00PM

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
