Variety is reporting that  Lionsgate has picked up the new Mel Gibson actioner Blood Father for distribution in the US which means we might just get to see the movie in the next few months.

Here’s what they said:

Lionsgate has bought U.S. distribution rights to action-thriller “Blood Father,” starring Mel Gibson.

Jean-Francois Richet directed “Blood Father” from a script by Peter Craig (“The Town”), who adapted his novel of the same name. The film was shot in the late spring in New Mexico.

Gibson plays an ex-con who reunites with his estranged 16-year-old daughter, and vows to protect her from the drug dealers who are trying to kill her. The daughter is played by Erin Moriarty, who portrayed Woody Harrelson’s daughter in HBO’s “True Detective.”

Elisabeth Rohm, William H. Macy and Diego Luna also star.

Sounds great and Gibbo is always reliable when it comes to action so count me in!

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
