What’s Next for Wesley Snipes?

blade

Since Wesley Snipes was released from prison we’ve all been wondering what he would do next in terms of movie projects. He started off in the Expendables 3 with a role that sounded like it was going to be great and then they sadly did nothing with it. He had a few good lines but then in the second half of the movie he was essentially sidelined.

The only movie showing on Wesley’s current IMDB profile is called Chronicles of the Mayan Tunnel which has been in development for a few years so I’m not sure if we can expect it any time soon. It tells the story of four youngsters who are sent back in time 1,500 years to the height of the Mayan Empire. That really doesn’t sound very exciting and not the kind if film we want to see Wesley doing.

He has mentioned that he would be very interested to return as Blade and I would love to see that happen. We all want Wesley to return as the Daywalker for part 4 and the man can still move but most importantly it would put him back on people’s radars again. It’s a sad day if he isn’t give a second chance and isn’t being cast in anything.

I consider Snipes one of the better action stars because he can also act as well as kick ass. Many people have said that he is better than a lot of movies he has starred in but that can be said about a lot of actors.

Apparently Hollywood insiders have said that his prison time isn’t what may prevent him getting roles but his ego from before he was put away. He had garnered a reputation as being difficult to work with and that can be hard to shake off; look at Val Kilmer who has been in straight to DVD land for years.

So will we see Snipes return to action? I sure hope so, either in Blade or possibly teaming up with Spike Lee might help to put him back on top. I’m pretty sure prison will have humbled him so I think he deserves a shot.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
