‘X-Men’ Spinoff ‘Deadpool’ Casts Morena Baccarin as Female Lead

Variety is reporting that “Homeland star Morena Baccarin will star opposite Ryan Reynolds in Fox-Marvel’s Deadpool.

Baccarin will portray the love interest for the titular character, an assassin with a scarred face who acquires superpowers while seeking a cure for his cancer. Gina Carano is also set to star as Angel Dust.

Tim Miller is directing from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Simon Kinberg is producing with Lauren Shuler Donner, with Fox planning a March start in Vancouver.”
