The Gael Crowdfunding Campaign

If ever there’s a crowdfunding campaign I can get behind it’s this one; why? It’s about my homeland Scotland.

THE GAEL is an adventure love story about a Celtic wife who is forced to rescue her husband after he is captured by the Romans.

It is written, produced and directed by Lucan Diercouff who said on the GoFundMe page”It has always been my dream to tell the story of a challenged love amidst the struggle of war. The kind of story that suits historical period and is an honest portrait of the passion of ancient Scotland.”

Diercouff and some of the cast/crew involved in the project are Veterans of the US Army who work with Veterans in Film & Television.

Veterans in Film & Television is a nonprofit networking organization that unites current and former members of the military working in the film and television industry.

Created and operated by veterans, VFT makes it simple and easy for the film & television industry to connect with the veteran community working in it. It is a resource for the film/TV industry to find and hire veterans. It is also an organization for veterans who work, or aspire to work, in film/TV to interact with, support, and learn from each other.

On an interesting side note, one of the stars of the film Paul Meixner was actually credited for a part in American Sniper but the scene was ultimately cut from the film.

But what about the project itself? Well, let’s take a look at the rewards first.

I am Lucas Diercouff, a U.S. Army veteran pursuing a BFA degree in Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Burbank, CA. If there is anything I have learned in my time in L.A., it is how to stretch a dollar.

As one can imagine, production design of a historical piece is an expensive undertaking. To have you join us in this process would be incredible. Please help us to make this the best film we can by supporting us in any way you can.

Many of the props have been acquired for the film, thanks to the incredible kindness of The Legion Six Historical Society:

However, we still have some great needs to fill:

-We still need materials to build the all too important Celtic Roundhouse to serve as the home of our Celtic heroes.

-Transportation: This drama and captivating period will be captured in the beautiful wine country of Paso Robles, CA. While it may not be Scotland, you’d think it was. Paso Robles is a 3hr drive for most of the cast and crew. Gas guzzling production trucks and passenger vans are not cheap.

– Food and accomodations for a cast and crew of +20 people.

– SAG minimums that our talented cast so rightfully deserves.

Rachel J. Clark, Paul Meixner, Shay House, Dale Nowicki, James E. Bane and John Kyle Sutton.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
