Statham Still Up for Layer Cake Sequel

It had been rather quiet on the Layer Cake 2 front recently; a while back a follow up was announced entitled Viva La Madness starring action star Jason Statham but then nothing happened.

Then the other day The Stath spoke with Digital Spy about the project.

JJ Connelly’s written a great book called Viva La Madness, and we’re taking that book and doing something great with it,” Statham confirmed to Digital Spy this week. “He’s such a talented writer… the book was incredible. I loved Layer Cake and this is [if anything] better.

“The chance to work with someone of that calibre, do something back home, it’s the most exciting thing on my plate… We’re doing it next year, and it’s full steam ahead. We’re putting all the finance together, and we’re off and racing.”

I loved Layer Cake and it was also the perfect showcase for Daniel Craig to show why he’d make a great James Bond; it also had some nice touches of humour so it would be refreshing to see Jason Statahm tackle this type of role again like he did with Snatch and Lock Stock.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
