Has Bad Boys 3 Found a Director?

It’s been so long since the second entry in the Bad Boys series that I was wondering if we were ever going to see Part 3. I always thought it was Michael Bay’s baby but it appears he’s too busy to return to the Bad Boys universe.

Well, according to Variety “Sony is eyeing Joe Carnahan as a potential director for Will Smith’s “Bad Boys 3.”

The studio is in early talks with Carnahan to do a re-write on a “Bad Boys 3″ script by “Safe House” writer David Guggenheim with an eye to directing.”

Carnahan of course directed Smokin’ Aces, The Grey and The A-Team so he’s no stranger to action and could give Bad Boys a gritty modern edge as well as keeping the humour.

This is an interesting choice and it would be cool to have one more entry in the series.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
