Statham to Join Daredevil?

UPDATED: I did say to take it with a pinch of salt and it looks like this has fallen through; Bloody Disgusting stated Statham “was legitimately in heavy negotiations for the role and the leak killed it. Perhaps his agent saw the positive uproar and instantly upped the actor’s asking fee? Perhaps the studio spotted the same excited reaction and preemptively killed the deal out of fear of Statham’s management going for more money? Who knows. The bottom line is that yesterday the Crank star was at the top of the list and deep in negotiations and today Marvel has moved on to other pastures.”

That’s too bad but I had a feeling it was too good to be true.

This may have to be taken with a pinch of salt but frankly it’s just too exciting to ignore; Latino Review is reporting that Jason Statham is in talks to join Daredevil Season 2 as Bullseye. The first season of the Netflix show was my personal favourite of the MCU and the addition of Statham as the assassin would be rather awesome.

Latino Review state:

According to a trusted source at Marvel’s new TV production offices, Jason Statham – star of The Transporter film franchise, this year’s Furious 7, and this summer’s action comedy Spy – is being pursued to play Bullseye in season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil Netflix series. It is not yet confirmed as reps would not give me a call back.

This isn’t  Statham’s first dance with Daredevil. Just before the rights for the character reverted back to Marvel, he was said to be in talks to appear in a cinematic reboot that 20th Century Fox was trying to get off the ground.

I really hope this happens and as Statham is having a rather stellar year, having him join the Marvel universe as a bad guy would be an exciting next step.
