Thoughts on the 6 Minute Ant-Man Preview

Before Jurassic World last night we got a special 6 minute preview of Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster Ant-Man; to be honest there wasn’t much we haven’t seen before but I thought I’d share my thoughts on it.

It starts off with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) getting into a prison fight before being released.

We then cut to him in a van saying to his friend that he wants to do something different with his life and then it cuts to him talking with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas).

He wants Scott to become the Ant-Man to avoid the technology getting into the wrong hands and Scott agrees.

There are a few “humorous” interludes with Scott talking to his ex-prison buddies as he shows what his new suit can do.

Then we get lots of action footage of him riding bugs and avoiding being run over by Thomas the Tank Engine; I have to admit that scene was rather funny and the look of the movie’s villain Yellowjacket was pretty cool.

I gotta say though that there is very little else about this movie that appeals; the script just isn’t as sharp as it could be and I think it’s a damn shame that Edgar Wright is no longer the director.

Considering how disappointing I found Age of Ultron then I’m not even sure I would pay to watch this in the theatre… I know I probably will though just so I can review it.

Anyway, here is an extended TV spot which tends to focus more on Yellowjacket simply because he’s cooler looking.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
