Details on ‘High Value Target’

UPDATE: The Action Elite has confirmed that much of the information in the article below from The Wrap is inaccurate.  This project is currently in development and is rumored to be starring Tony Jaa and Jason Statham. The plot detailed in their article is referring to an older story and has been extensively rewritten. Sources tell us once green-lit it may begin filming by the end of the year. No producers or directors have been announced. Additionally, the poster art and info is unofficial and not correct.

So earlier today on our Facebook page we posted the first teaser poster for a new action movie entitled High Value Target. What the Hell is that I hear you say? Well I’m happy you asked that and I hope you’re sitting down as it sounds all kinds of awesome.

Remember a few weeks back when Jason Statham said he wanted to work with Tony Jaa? This is that movie.

The film chronicles Mantis, a lethal special-operations unit that attacks a boat operated by Somali pirates. In an effort to ramp up the realism, much of the story will be told with point of view cameras attached to members of the unit.

It has been described as “Black Hawk Down” meets “The Raid: Redemption” since the vast majority of the film covers the raid, which transpires in one location — the boat.

It’s produced by Nu Image/Millennium Films, Vinson Films, and Energy Entertainment.

According to The Wrap, Millennium sees the project as a potential low-budget action franchise. The story of this special unit can be retold with new, similarly tantalizing targets.

With Statham and Jaa on board with references like The Raid, I think we can expect an ass-kicking actioner. Sold!
