To Sequel?

Does Terminator Genisys Deserve a Sequel?

Terminator Genisys has now reached over $300 million worldwide which is actually a pretty decent haul considering the lukewarm reception it’s received from so many people.

Personally I quite enjoyed it; it wasn’t a classic by any means but it was an entertaining few hours at the theatre.

Domestically its box office isn’t all that impressive though with $85 million making it the least successful of the sequels thus far, so this does not bode well for another follow up.

The budget for Genisys was $155 Million so it might end in profit by the end of its international run but even then it has performed weaker than the studio would have liked so a sequel may not be coming soon.

Last week The Hollywood Reporter quoted a studio source as saying “we will definitely need to see the holds globally to confirm that people like the film”.

The movie is certainly open for one but I don’t know if it generated enough interest for us to want to see the bland new cast return.

Personally I would rather see Legend of Conan than another Terminator movie and I hope it comes sooner rather than later but if we do get another Terminator then I imagine I’d be there to watch it.

So do you want a sequel or has the Terminator franchise become obsolete?

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
