JCVD’s New Flick Breaks Box Office Records

Jean-Claude Van Damme’s new film ‘Pancake Man’ AKA ‘Jianbin Man’ has broken some box office records in China.

Variety is reporting that the comedy spoof “opened Friday and enjoyed 179,000 screenings that allowed it to power to $69m million in three days. That total included the $22.4 million record on Friday for the biggest live action opening day by a Chinese movie. It beat the previous benchmark, set only a week before by “Tiny Times 4.0.”

In the movie JCVD plays a villain proving that JCVD is just too good at being bad.

This also means that the film will be getting an international release which will arrive at select theatres in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Diego, Boston, Seattle and San Francisco on July 24th.

I’m really pleased for Jean-Claude and I hope this means we can see him in more theatrical releases in the coming future.
