First Person Shooter Based on John Wick?

John Wick is one of the best action movies of the past few years and I’ve been wanting more sequels and spin-offs because I want to see more of that universe.

Well it looks like Starbreeze is apparently working on a virtual reality, first-person shooter game based on the Lionsgate property John Wick.

According to VG247 the publisher is working with theBlu: Encounter studio and distributor WEVR, on a “fully immersive VR experience” that will introduce the game.

Development team Grab, which has mobile games and VR experience, will spearhead the development.

Starbreeze will be publishing the product across multiple VR platforms. The film’s producer Basil Iwanyk and his production team will be collaborating WEVR and Grab on the game.

The standalone, first-person shooter game is based on the world and characters of the John Wick films, centering around the Continental Hotel.

In addition, Starbreeze will further integrate the John Wick storyline into Payday 2.

A promo version of the the will be select events and stops on the HTC Vive World Tour and a teaser will be available at the launch of HTC Vive and available via SteamVR.

The full game is expected to be available on most existing VR headsets in Spring 2016.

Lionsgate is currently developing John Wick 2 for release next September, starring Keanu Reeves.

You had me at the mention of The Continental Hotel; that was one of my favourite aspects of the movie and I hope we get to see a lot more of it.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
