Where’s our True Lies Blu-ray?

True Lies is one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s most popular movies; it had something for everyone.

A strong female lead in the fantastic Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnie spouting one-liners, killing bad guys and plenty of over the top action scenes.

So why the Hell has it not been released on Blu-ray?

James Cameron seems to love using modern technology so I think it’s about time we got to see True Lies in High Definition.

Way back in 2014 Actor Tom Arnold apparently confirmed that he and the rest of the cast shot interview material for a True Lies: 20th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray… and yet here we are and no True Lies Blu-ray.

One of my other favourite Cameron movies is The Abyss which also still needs the upgrade.

There was even a Change.Org Petition to get the movies released on Blu-ray; the petition has since ended but they stated:

“For the last 5 years, we’ve been told “it’s coming next year”- that was 5 years ago.

The time to wait is over, both films celebrated their 25th and 20th anniversaries with no corresponding video release. Both are only commercially available on DVD with 1993 and 1995 4×3 Laserdisc ready masters.

New HD masters have been made and approved and are often shown on HD cable. Cameron himself stated that their future release was all up to Jim Gianopulos, and now we demand he comply.”

Perhaps the “demanding he comply” sounded a little harsh but I applaud their enthusiasm.

Anyway, come on Cameron/Gianopulos; never mind the Avatar sequels. Give us True Lies and The Abyss on Blu-ray!

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.

I forgot this movie was even happening but I’m hoping Seagal is more than a glorified cameo and is one of the main stars; judging by the trailer it looks like his role may be small but it’s cool to see Mike Tyson pu...
