Flashdance’s Jennifer Beals Joins Taken TV Series

The Taken TV series has finally found its female lead – and it’s a blast from the past.

1980s movie icon Jennifer Beals – star of Flashdance and Vampire’s Kiss – has been cast in the NBC show as US Deputy Director of National Intelligence Christina Hart.

In her top security job, she helps a young Bryan Mills (played here by Clive Standen, not Liam Neeson) to develop the very ‘particular set of skills’ he’ll eventually use to kill baddies worldwide, reports Deadline.

While Beals is best known for her big-screen work (and that incredible dancing), she’s also had plenty of TV experience.

Over the past two decades she’s had major roles in The L Word, Lie to Me and Proof – just to name a few.

NBC ordered the Taken prequel straight-to-series last autumn.
