Synopsis for Changing Charlie

Charlie Biggs is just your average guy. He appreciates the simple things in life like bacon, lasagna, and movies from the 80s. One day his next-door neighbor Vanessa, a psychology student, decides that Charlie could use a little more zest in his life.  She convinces him to seek treatment with the idea that he is suffering from a type of condition called anhedonia. Charlie follows her direction but suddenly finds himself experiencing a wide array of psychiatric phenomena as the result of his treatment. Join Charlie in the journey that ensues as he discovers both the good and bad that accompany current mental health remedies.

Comment from the filmmakers:

“We are making this film because we feel strongly about the subject matter. Many of today’s treatments for mental health issues have ramifications that often outweigh the benefits. The Charlie Biggs story is a fictional tale about a man who seeks treatment in order to improve his day-to-day functioning. This film will seek to explore the positive and negative phenomena associated with psychiatric treatments. Your donations will go into development, preproduction, production, and postproduction of this important project.”

About the filmmakers:

Jeff Wincott is an actor with over 50 credits to his name. He has produced multiple films and recently completed his directorial debut, a short entitled Behind Bars.  He is excited to work on Changing Charlie because it will give him the chance to further his filmmaking pursuits while also addressing important public health issues.

Charlotte Wincott has her PhD in neuroscience. Prior to going back to school, she was a writer and musician in Los Angeles, California. She has strong feelings about the lack of effective mental health treatments in today’s society and has decided to use her education and writing talents to bring awareness to this important subject matter through the use of film.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
