To Sequel?

Will We Ever Get a National Treasure 3?

Nobody really talks about the National Treasure movies much; I mean, they aren’t amazing but I always enjoy a fun adventure flick and both movies are perfect Saturday night fare.

The first movie was a surprise hit making $347,512,318  internationally on a $100 Million budget and the sequel entitled Book of Secrets made an impressive $457,364,600 worldwide; really the question is WHY haven’t we seen a third movie yet?

Well, I’m glad you asked that because in a recent Walt Disney shareholder meeting Bob Iger was asked if we could expect a National Treasure 3.

He responded “We have done two, and yes they were really fine movies. I know Jerry Bruckheimer who produced them has had conversations with our studio a number of times about it, and there have been some developments along the way, but as of right now we have not green-lit as we say, a National Treasure 3. But I do know there is time and some resources spent on development. That’s all I can tell ya.”

That doesn’t sound too promising so I wouldn’t expect to see a third movie but I’m pretty sure Nicolas Cage could use a box office hit and I would certainly be there to check it out… or watch it on Netflix.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.

I forgot this movie was even happening but I’m hoping Seagal is more than a glorified cameo and is one of the main stars; judging by the trailer it looks like his role may be small but it’s cool to see Mike Tyson pu...
