Deadpool 2 Is Officially A Go

Digital Spy is reporting that “20th Century Fox made every Deadpool fan’s dream come true today (April 14) by confirming that a sequel is in the works.

Ryan Reynolds will be back as the Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 2, which reunites him with the original movie’s director Tim Miller. On board as well are the first film’s writing duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick – another good sign for fans of this year’s surprise superhero hit.

Fox officially announced the sequel at Cinema-Con today, although its development had been the industry’s worst-kept secret since Deadpool became the highest-grossing X-Men film ever.

A post-credits scene from the February release has already hinted the follow-up could be based around the introduction of Cable, the time-traveling son of X-Men member Cyclops.

Deadpool has made a jaw-dropping $757 million and earned rave reviews over the last two months.”
