One Hit Fight Scenes

tommy conlon

One of the most entertaining types of fight scenes in an action movie is where we get a build up with some “badass” and then our hero knocks them out (or kills them) with one solid punch or kick.

So here are a few of my personal favourite one hit knockouts.

Never Back Down

This was before Michael Jai White took over the series but I always kind of enjoyed the first Never Back Down; this scene in particular was actually the bad guy doing a one hit knockout, although I thought he was a more interesting character than the protagonist.

Ong Bak

We all know Tony Jaa is a badass but this scene just shows how awesome he really is.

Lionheart is one of JCVD’s finest hours and I always loved this scene. Oh you think you’re tough? But what if I punch you in the NUTS?!

Back to the Future

One of the most emotionally satisfying scenes as the forever picked on George McFly gives the bully his comeuppance in this classic moment from Back to the Future.

Conan the Barbarian vs. A Camel

It’s Arnie punching a camel in the face. Nothing else needs to be said.

One-Punch Mickey – Snatch

Pretty much every fight in Snatch is resolved by Mickey (Brad Pitt) knocking his opponents out with 1 punch. This one is one of the best.

Tommy Conlan TKO in Warrior

Sorry this isn’t a better quality video but Warrior is the only movie we’re allowed to cry at watching because it’s so goddamn manly.

Touch me Again, I’ll Kill Ya – The Last Boy Scout

This is my favourite one of all time; back when Bruce Willis was cooler than January in the Arctic.

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
