Happy 70th Birthday Bolo Yeung

Today marks Legend of Action Bolo Yeung’s 70th birthday; he is mostly known for playing villain roles in movies like Bloodsport, Legacy of Rage, Double Impact, Tiger Claws, Ironheart and Enter the Dragon but he also starred in plenty of other martial arts movies as a hero too including Shootfighter and TC-2000.

Whether he’s being good or bad Bolo always eats up the screen and has fought Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee, Jean-Claude Van Damme and many more; his intimidating presence would be enough to scare off most opponents and indeed he terrified me as a youngster.

In reality though he is a gentleman and quite soft spoken; he also has a son named David Yeung who is now making a name for himself in the bodybuilding world.

Apparently when he was growing up he took an interest in bodybuilding, and later became the Mr. Hong Kong bodybuilding champion. This would end up being a title he held on to for 10 years before joining the world of movies.

As it’s his birthday I thought I would post his classic fight scene from Double Impact with JCVD.

Happy Birthday Bolo!

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone.
