Daniel Baldwin (John Carpenter’s Vampires, Homicide), has joined the cast of the futuristic sci-fi/action feature “Crossbreed”. Baldwin’s role is said to be that of a high-ranking government official post-World War III.
Brandon Slagle will direct the Jaguar Motion Pictures film, which is is centered around a group of retired military war heroes who are sent to retrieve an extraterrestrial being from an illegal Medical Facility using its DNA to manufacture weapons.
“Crossbreed” went viral recently when news of Vivica A. Fox being cast as the President of the United States broke on Hollywood Reporter.
Vivica’s casting marks the first time the President has been portrayed as an African-American female in a feature film.
Also appearing are John T. Woods (Down and Dangerous), Stink Fisher (Gotham, The Lovely Bones), Vernon Wells (Commando, The Road Warrior), Devanny Pinn (House of Manson), Antoine Lanier, Jason McNeil, Brandyn T. Williams, and science fiction authors The Winner Twins. Slagle co-wrote the script with Robert Thompson.
Said to be a throwback to action features of the 80’s and 90’s such as the original Robocop and Total Recall, “Crossbreed” begins shooting in Los Angeles before moving to New York this month.
This marks the second production in 2016 from Jaguar Motion Pictures following the cartel thriller “California Dreaming: Escape from Ensenada”. John and Donna Kopp are producing with Liz Cuppie.
