A while back it was announced that there would be a sequel to the Arnie/Stallone movie Escape Plan and according to Deadline “Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films has greenlighted a sequel to its 2013 film, with Sylvester Stallone prepared to reprise the role he played in the original, this time in a supporting capacity. He starred in the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and it grossed $137 million worldwide.

EFO co-founders/co-CEOs Randall Emmett and George Furla put this one together, and the company will sell foreign at AFM. Lionsgate Premiere will release domestically. Miles Chapman, who wrote the first one, is scripting the sequel. Emmett, Furla, Mark Canton and Zack Schiller will all return to produce.

Ted Fox, Mark Stewart, Barry Brooker and Stan Wertlieb will executive produce. A major Chinese component will be involved in the financing of the sequel, due to its predecessor’s huge success in the region. Pre-production will begin January 15, and the film will shoot March 15 in Ohio and China”.

So this movie is definitely happening with Sly on board; also yesterday Stallone’s Twitter posted this cryptic Tweet:

Does this mean he isn’t done with Rambo? I guess we will have to wait and see…

I grew up watching JCVD, Sly and Arnold destroy bad guys, blow things up and spew one-liners like it's a fashion statement. Action is everything I go to the movies for and the reason I came up with this site is to share my love for the genre with everyone. We also want to help promote new talent whether you're making blockbusters, low-budget Indie movies or fan films; if it's action, it's awesome.
