Johnny Strong and Scott Adkins are “Sinners and Saints”

This is news we’ve been wanting to hear for a long time and today it’s official; Johnny Strong (“The Fast and the Furious”; “Black Hawk Down”) is set to reprise his role from the awesome 2010 action thriller “Sinners and Saints'” in what is a stand alone sequel entitled “Sinners and Saints: Vengeance” and this time will team up with international action star Scott Adkins (the “Undisputed” franchise; “Doctor Strange”).

William Kaufman (“Daylights End”; “Sinners and Saints”) will again direct the film, which centers on a New Orleans police detective (Strong) who sets off for Russia in search of the syndicate enforcer who killed his partner. With the help of an old war buddy (Adkins) and the enforcer’s own kidnapped lover, they pave a path of bloody retribution throughout the mean streets of Moscow.

This is quite a different direction from the first movie and sounds like it could be rather awesome; I love the idea of them taking the action to Russia.

Chad Law (“Hero Wanted”; “The Hit List”) and Jay Moses (the original “Sinners and Saints”) penned the screenplay and shooting is set to begin this winter in Bulgaria.

The movie is intended to be the re-launch of the franchise with two more sequels planning to shoot in 2019 and 2020.

King Hollis is producing alongside Yanko Ushatov and Stanimir Stamatov.

Strong most recently starred in director Kaufman’s “Daylights End” and just wrapped “Cold Brook” with his “Black Hawk Down” co-star William Fichtner directing.

Adkins  co-starring in this weekend’s  release American Assassin, will next be seen in “Accident Man” and “Triple Threat” alongside Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Michael Jai White and Tiger Chen.

Check out the trailer to the original Sinners and Saints below and if you’ve never seen it then watch it ASAP as it’s a cracking action thriller.
