Summary: Whovians rejoice! Blogtor Who is back…
Known for his popular lists, Cameron K. McEwan, author of The Who’s Who of Doctor Who, is back with a book that compiles loads of fun facts and never-before-heard tidbits about the Whoniverse. (It’s bigger on the inside!)
Pour over loads of fascinating lists about the TARDIS, Gallifrey, and Daleks, as the fandom unites in epic appreciation for The Doctor. Organized by theme, Unofficial Doctor Who: The Big Book of Lists will cover everything over the past fifty years of the epic series including: doppelgangers, popular locales, regenerations, Gallifrey adventures, highest-rated episodes, plots, characters and loads more.

Review: Those familiar with Blogtor Who will know that over the years Cameron K. McEwan has amassed a number of lists for the site (some of which have been re-appropriated and updated in the book.). They’re all a bit different to the more mundane lists you’ll find elsewhere and have a certain amount of fun and personality about them. Of course, underlying each list are cold hard facts. Facts from over fifty years of storytelling. Facts that, sometimes (just sometimes), contradict previous facts. And sometimes, future facts. And often at the same time. But isn’t that the nature of Doctor Who?

At more than 250 pages, and featuring 100 color images from the legendary artist Andrew Skilleter, who is so familiar to those who grew up buying the Target novelizations and Doctor Who on VHS, Unofficial Doctor Who: The Big Book of Lists may just be the ultimate compendium of unique and obscure Doctor Who facts for even the most hardcore Doctor Who fan.

Some of the lists include:

– Actors who have appeared in Star Wars and Doctor Who
– Doctor Who
film references
– Top 10 Kisses of the Doctor
– Dopplegangers in Doctor Who
– American Guest Appearances
– Food and Drink in Doctor Who
– “Other” Doctor Who stories (prequels, minisodes, etc…)
– Regeneration Stories
– Gallifrey Adventures
– Alien Team-ups
– People Who Came Back From The Dead
– TARDIS consoles
– Weirdest TARDIS dematerialisations
– Highest-Rated TV Episodes
– Lowest-Rated TV Episodes

Unofficial Doctor Who: The Big Book of Lists is a great read. Author Cameron K. McEwan has not only done yeoman’s work in collecting all the facts and trivia contained on the pages, but he has done so in a fun and entertaining manner. This is not just a bland collection of facts but a well presented reference that will have fans young and old finding them-self returning to this reference book time and time again. From the very first Doctor up to the current incarnation played by Peter Capaldi, you will be amazed at some of the Doctor Who trivia that just may have you saying out loud, ‘I had no idea!’
