John Wick Spin-Off TV Series The Continental in the Works

As much as we love the first two John Wick movies and anxiously wait for Chapter 3 to come out, we should also be expecting a spin-off TV series of the stylish gun-fu franchise called The Continental sometime in the future. Yes, you heard that right! John Wick director Chad Stahelski even stated in an interview with The Independent that The Continental is in development by Lionsgate TV.

The Continental will be a prequel to both JW films and focus on the hotel chain for assassins. The New York hotel was first introduced in the first John Wick movie and in Chapter 2, it is revealed that there are Continental hotels worldwide. According the Stahelski, the series “would expand the world of the Continental to include a whole range of characters down to the sommelier.” Stahelski further stated that the series will be about “the Continentals all over the world, how certain people come into that world, and what happens in relation to those people.” Although the Boogeyman will not be protagonist of the series himself, he is set to make a cameo appearance in The Continental. No word has been said about the owner of the New York Continental Winston, played by Ian McShane.

Stahelski and fellow John Wick collaborator David Leitch are currently not involved with the series, as Stahelski is working on John Wick: Chapter 3 along with a Highlander reboot and Leitch is working on Deadpool 2.
