Review: If you know action, then you know the name Mike Fury; fight coordinator, actor and film journalist, Mike’s passion for action is matched by his knowledge of the genre spanning all over the globe. He has written for magazines like Martial Arts Illustrated, Combat and even contributed to this very site.

His new book Life of Action gives a great insight into some of our favourite action stars with informative and entertaining interviews with the likes of Scott Adkins, Dolph Lundgren, Donnie Yen, J.J. Perry, David Leitch, Chad Stahelski and Cynthia Rothrock to name a few.

The book took 3 years to put together and is incredibly in-depth with every page containing info and photos which also explore the filmmaking process.

His respect and admiration for the action genre and the stars who put in the hard work is noticeable on every page with discussions about how technical the filmmaking process can be.

The book starts off with a fantastic interview with Scott Adkins; a man who deserves to be an A-list action star and it’s one of the best interviews I’ve read with him as he discusses the now iconic character of Yuri Boyka and more.

The writing style is easy to read and the only difficulty you‘ll have with it is putting it down.

Overall, there really isn’t much else to say except to pick this book up ASAP. If you have even a passing interest in the action genre this it is 100% essential for your collection.
