If you’ve ever dreamed of pushing your racing skills to the absolute limit, Legend Island in Forza Horizon 6 is the ultimate destination. This is more than just another location in Japan—it’s a testing ground for the best drivers, a place that separates casual racers from true Horizon Legends.
What Is Legend Island?
Legend Island is a reward for reaching the pinnacle of the Horizon Festival. Once you collect all seven Festival Wristbands, you earn the coveted Horizon Legend title. This isn’t just a badge of honor—it grants access to Legend Island, an entirely separate area filled with high-speed challenges, unique events, and rare cars that aren’t available anywhere else in the game.
The island is home to the Legend Island Circuit, a track designed for competitive Time Attack races and high-performance tuning. But the real centerpiece is the Colossus, a massive 50-mile-long Goliath race that loops around the island and the mainland freeway. If you thought Goliath events were intense before, the Colossus takes everything to a new level, demanding precision, endurance, and a serious R-class car.
Legend Island is exclusive. Only Horizon Legends can set foot here, making it a true mark of achievement.
How to Access Legend Island
Accessing Legend Island isn’t as simple as driving past a gate. You’ll need to progress through the campaign, starting as a tourist and working your way up through the Festival tiers. The journey is as much about skill as it is about exploring Japan.
When you first arrive in Japan, you won’t be alone. Two new Horizon characters, Mei and Jordy, will join you on your journey.
- Jordy is a motorsports enthusiast who lives for competitive racing. He’ll guide you through high-intensity events and provide advice for tackling the toughest circuits.
- Mei is a Japanese car expert who knows the cultural side of the car scene. She will take you on authentic day trips, helping you discover hidden roads, scenic areas, and the subtle beauty of Japan’s varied landscapes.
Together, they help you earn your Gold Wristband, giving you entry to Legend Island. Along the way, you’ll get familiar with Japan’s streets, highways, and mountain passes, preparing you for the extreme events ahead.
Exclusive Activities and Events
Legend Island isn’t just a scenic destination—it’s packed with exclusive events designed to challenge even the best players.
The Colossus
The headline event of the island, the Colossus, is the largest Goliath race in Horizon history. Stretching over 50 miles, it combines the island’s twisting roads with the high-speed mainland freeway system. This marathon is built for R-class cars, letting players push their vehicles to the absolute limit. Speed, endurance, and strategic pit stops make this a race unlike any other.
Legend Island Circuit
This dedicated race track is the hub for competitive play on the island. Featuring multiple layouts and sharp corners, it’s perfect for Time Attack events, tuning experiments, and practice before attempting the Colossus. Players can test their setups and fine-tune every aspect of their car, from aerodynamics to tire grip.
Endgame Challenges
Legend Island introduces challenges that go beyond the usual “Hall of Fame” rewards. These are exclusive endgame missions that require precision driving, speed mastery, and knowledge of the map. Completing these challenges earns unique rewards and solidifies your status as a Horizon Legend.
New Racing Mechanics
Legend Island also brings fresh racing styles:
- Touge Battles: One-on-one mountain pass races inspired by Japan’s legendary street racing culture. These races test your cornering and drift skills in high-pressure duels.
- Horizon Rush: Obstacle-course-style events found at Tokyo City Docks and Sotoyama Ski Resort. These events combine speed with agility, offering a break from traditional circuit racing.
Exclusive Rewards and Cars
While Forza Horizon 6 already features over 550 cars, Legend Island adds exclusive vehicles and rewards.
Forza Edition Cars
Some Forza Edition cars are unlocked only through Legend Island activities. Players can get rare vehicles such as:
- 2012 Nissan GT-R – A precision beast for high-speed runs.
- Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro – Perfect for off-road challenges and unique events.
- Mazda 787B – A racing legend now playable on your custom setups.
Collection Journal Rewards
Legend Island introduces stamp collections and unique activities. Completing these unlocks exclusive cars, cosmetic items, and FH6 credits. These collectibles make exploring the island even more rewarding, as each region has hidden challenges tied to your progression.
Loyalty and Pre-order Exclusives
Fans who pre-ordered or have long-term loyalty rewards gain early access to vehicles like the Ferrari J50 or cover cars from previous Horizon titles. This ensures that dedicated players get something truly special for completing early Tokyo races.
Tips for Making the Most of Legend Island
- Upgrade Your R-class Cars: Many events are designed around high-performance vehicles. Invest in tuning and upgrades to handle the island’s demanding courses.
- Explore With Mei: She provides insight into hidden shortcuts and scenic routes, giving you an edge in time-based events.
- Practice Touge Battles: Mastering one-on-one mountain races is essential for high-level challenges. Learn the corners and braking points carefully.
- Plan for the Colossus: Since it’s a marathon, make sure your car setup balances speed with durability. Long stretches at top speed can wear down tires and engines.
