Outrageously Entertaining
Summary
Hazard is totally messed up and at times hilarious with the various antics our two leads get up to. It’s not packed with fight scenes or anything but it’s still well paced and unpredictable making for a fun ride you won’t forget in a hurry.
Plot: Follows Noah, who really loves his girlfriend, his daughter, and his car, but after accepting a driving job he gets into a race that will result in either losing his life, his family or his beloved car.
Review: I hadn’t even seen a trailer for Hazard, but recently checked it out and I was pleasantly surprised. The majority of the movie is seen from the perspective of inside our protagonist Noah’s (Dimitri ‘Vegas’ Thivaios) car as he races around town trying to rescue his daughter after a robbery goes wrong.
It’s a well-paced 88 minutes and Hazard is one of the craziest and funniest movies I’ve seen this year. There was one scene in particular that I won’t spoil, but I was literally crying with laughter as it was so outrageous.
Noah starts off as rather unsympathetic as he seems more enamored with his car than getting a proper job, but as his desperation grows he will do whatever it takes to get his daughter back. It’s essentially Crank meets The Transporter as Noah and Carlos race around the city with everything escalating into utter insanity. Have you ever seen someone have sex with a car? You have now…
In terms of action the movie is practically one big car chase but there aren’t fight scenes or anything like that. It still manages to move along and is never dull for a second and you’ll be wondering what utter madness will ensue next.
I love the music choices in Hazard as it’s all 90’s dance tunes like ATB’s “9PM til I Come”, “Age of Love” and more which was my era growing up.
Overall, Hazard has scenes the likes of which I’ve never seen before and I would happily watch it again as it was at times hilariously outrageous. There aren’t any big fight scenes or anything but there’s enough craziness to make this well worth a watch.
