Disappointing
Summary
In the Grey has its moments with a great cast however, some are under used and there wasn’t much that stood out about the action. You can wait for streaming.
Plot: A covert team of elite operatives is living in the shadows. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, they’re sent to take it back-an impossible heist that erupts into a deadly game of strategy, deception, and survival.
Review: In the Grey is one of those films I’ve been curious about ever since it was announced, mostly because of who was involved, and the premise sounded intriguing. When the trailer came out, it seemed like a fun one.
Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of Guy Ritchie’s more average films, as it feels very safe compared to his other films.
Of the cast, only Eiza Gonzalez, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Fisher Stevens stood out as the rest were either underutilized or felt incredibly wasted which was certainly the case with Henry Cavill.
The story was rather convoluted and felt rushed rather than fully fleshed out. As for the action, it lacked energy and there wasn’t a lot of tension during those scenes.
Overall, In the Grey was a mixed bag, aside from the 3 performances mentioned, this was fairly bland and generic, so you can probably wait for streaming on this one.
