Yesterday we said goodbye to a legend as the great Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa passed away at the age of 75 due to complications from a stroke. I used to be friends with him on Facebook and he would respond to messages; I was meant to interview him at one point but we couldn’t get our schedules to align. I’m quite devastated about his passing as he was a part of my childhood.
One of my favourite roles of his was as the villainous Funekei Yoshida in Showdown in Little Tokyo alongside Brandon Lee and Dolph Lundgren. Today I thought I would remember his final fight with Dolph at the end of the movie which I may have to watch tonight in honour of Tagawa.
