NICK MORAN JOINS THE CAST OF BRITISH SPY FILM ‘KNIGHTFALL’ AFTER SURGERY

Lock Stock and Harry Potter star Nick Moran has joined the cast of British espionage thriller Knightfall, in which he appears opposite Ian Ogilvy, Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott, Michael Paré and Sir Roger Moore’s son Geoffrey Moore. Moran has recently been in the press undergoing surgery with initials reports painting a somewhat grimmer picture than necessary.

Knightfall centres on weapons analyst Ros Knight (Jeanine Sothcott) who is called in last minute on a top secret Arms Deal raid lead by her MI5 agent boyfriend Hugh (Geoffrey Moore). When an assassin murders both buyer and seller the mission is catastrophically compromised and Ros, left with the key for the weapon and a target on her back is pursued by ruthless mercenaries lead by the fearsome Ivan (Robert Cavanah). Set up by the intelligence services, she and Hugh must flee to the rambling country estate of her estranged father: legendary former spy catcher Charles Knight (Ian Ogilvy).

Moran plays the enigmatic Whitehall mandarin Carmichael, who orders the operation to retrieve the key by any means and despatches the mercenary team to the Knight estate, bringing him into conflict with Hugh. Best known as an actor, Moran is also a director of some note having helmed Telstar (2008), The Kid (2010) and most recently Creation Stories (2021).

Knightfall is produced by Jonathan Sothcott under his Shogun Films banner. Sothcott commented: “It was great to work with Nick again, he’s a superb actor and this is his third movie for us. It was great to see him having a good time amongst friends and being his usual gregarious self.” Moran and Sothcott’s previous collaborations include Age of Kill (2015), Eat Locals (2017), Nemesis (2020) and Renegades (2022).

Film Bridge International are launching the movie to buyers with a trailer at Cannes.

Knightfall is one of a number of Shogun movies in post production with Martin Kemp serial killer picture Doctor Plague and fortune telling horror Harbinger both on the way.
