Explosive
Summary
Normal may be a little slow burn for some tastes for the first half however, once the action kicks in it delivers the goods with plenty of brutal kills making this worth checking out.
Plot: Centers on a temporary small-town sheriff who uncovers dark mysteries after a local bank robbery.
Review: Having been a fan of the Nobody films, I was already curious about this one when it was announced, and the trailer certainly made Normal worth seeing, as it seemed to have a different tone than those films.
Well, this was certainly different from the Nobody franchise as it indeed has a bit more of a serious tone while still providing some good humor throughout.
Bob Odenkirk once again shows here how he blends humor with his dramatic chops. The rest of the supporting cast is also solid particularly Jess McLeod, Reena Jolly, and Ryan Allen being the standouts among those.
The story while familiar and fairly simple is still serviceable but interesting enough and engaging.
Now, I should mention that the first half is very much a slow burn, so if you can deal with that then you’ll be very pleased once the action kicks in which is very fun and features some brutal kills which are very satisfying.
Overall, Normal is a hugely enjoyable film that has some fun action, moves at a fairly decent pace, has a good cast, and is well-directed.
